What is Hard Skills?
Hard skills are teachable, measurable abilities such as programming languages, accounting methods, machinery operation, or foreign-language proficiency.
Employers filter heavily on hard skills because they map directly to job tasks. A data analyst role may require SQL, Python, and a specific BI tool; a healthcare role may require registration and clinical procedures. List skills you can demonstrate, not every technology you have touched once.
Placement matters. A dedicated skills section helps ATS keyword matching; embedding the same tools in experience bullets proves you used them in context. Both layers together are stronger than either alone.
Rate your honesty carefully. 'Exposure to' and 'proficient in' mean different things. Misstating skill level fails technical interviews and damages trust.
Compare your skills list against the job description in Cvaluate. Prioritise must-have technical requirements near the top of your skills section and reinforce them in recent role bullets.
